Alec: Dikanda - Ederlezi (DJ Dark, MD DJ Rework)
Dikanda, is a polish band, but appears to have song this song in it’s original Romani language.
Ederlezi is a Romani folk song that refers to the Romani spring festival, Ederlezi, which celebrates the passing of seasons. It takes place about 4 days after the Spring Equinox.
“Ederlezi” is the Romanes name for the Bulgarian and Serbian Feast of Saint George (Đurđevdan)
The origin of the celebration goes back to when the Roma were pure nomads, traveling the lands.
In older times when the Roma would travel across the land, the long and cold winters would prevent them from traveling. So, the spring and the changing of the seasons would reinvigorate a culture every year.
